The Secretary-General of the United Nations appoints the Senegalese Abdallah Bathili as Special Envoy to Libya

TUNIS (Reuters) - The United Nations mission in Libya said in a statement on Saturday that United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed Senegalese diplomat and former government minister, Abdallah Bathili, as a special envoy to Libya. Bathili succeeds Jan Kubis, who stepped down late last year when diplomacy aimed at resolving Libya's long-running conflict faltered in the run-up to the country's failed general elections
