French prosecutors file indictments against 12 people accused of trying to assassinate Macron

On Wednesday, French prosecutors filed an indictment against 12 people for participating in the 2018 assassination attempt on French President Emmanuel Macron. According to Agence France-Presse, the attorney general's office called on the French judiciary to present the defendants before a reform court, not a jury trial. The Anti-Terrorism Office of the Public Prosecution stated that the defendants, 11 men and a woman, belonged to the far-right Bargol group. It is noteworthy that the investigation into the attack on Macron began in November 2018, when 14 people close to the far-right parties were arrested, 2 of whom were released after 4 years of investigation.
