NATO: Any deliberate attack against the vital infrastructure of member states will be met with a firm and united response

Brussels: Europe and Arabs
NATO headquarters in Brussels issued a statement Thursday, commenting on the damage to the gas pipeline.
The damage to the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines in international waters in the Baltic Sea is of deep concern. All information currently available indicates that this is the result of willful, reckless and irresponsible acts of vandalism. These leaks cause shipping risks and significant environmental damage. We support ongoing investigations to determine the source of the damage.

We, as allies, are committed to preparing, deterring, and defending against forced use of energy and other hybrid tactics by state and non-state actors. Any deliberate attack against critical Allied infrastructure will be met with a unified and resolute response.
For his part, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the situation with regard to "Nord Stream" is extremely dangerous and requires an urgent investigation, and that such a terrorist act cannot happen without "the involvement of some countries."
