Algerian-European meeting to strengthen cooperation in the field of energy

Talks will take place between Algeria and the European Union next Monday and Tuesday, and according to a statement issued by the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, Energy Commissioner Kadri Simpson will be in Algeria to strengthen the European Union's cooperation in the field of energy with this important partner country.
This visit is part of the Commission's ongoing efforts to diversify the EU's energy supply away from Russian fossil fuels and to strengthen energy relationships with trusted partners.
On Monday, Commissioner Simpson will chair the High Level Dialogue on Energy and will hold a bilateral meeting with Algerian Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab. She will also participate in a lunch with representatives of European energy companies investing in Algeria. At the end of the dialogue, the Commissioner will hold a press briefing. On Tuesday, she will attend the EU-Algeria Business Forum on Energy and hold a joint press conference with the Algerian Minister of Energy.
