The Saudi Foreign Ministry expresses its total rejection of the American statements, and considers them not based on facts

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Thursday that the Kingdom does not accept any kind of dictation and rejects any actions aimed at altering the goals it seeks to protect the global economy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was briefed on the statements issued towards the Kingdom following the issuance of the OPEC Plus decision on October 5, 2022, which included describing the decision as siding with the Kingdom in international conflicts and that it was a politically motivated decision against the United States of America.

And she added: "The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would like to express its total rejection of these statements that are not based on facts, and mainly rely on trying to portray the OPEC Plus decision outside its purely economic framework, a decision that was taken unanimously by all OPEC Plus countries."

And she stated in the statement: “The Kingdom affirms that the outcomes of the OPEC Plus meetings are adopted through the collective consensus of the member states, and no country is unique in it without the rest of the member states, and from a purely economic perspective that takes into account the balance of supply and demand in the oil markets and limits fluctuations that do not serve the interests of producers. And consumers alike, which is what the OPEC Plus group has been doing.”

She stated that the OPEC Plus group takes its decisions independently in accordance with the generally accepted independent practices of international organizations.

And the Saudi diplomacy continued, saying: “The Kingdom’s government would also like to clarify, that out of its conviction of the importance of dialogue and exchanging views with allies and partners from outside the OPEC Plus group regarding the oil market conditions, the Kingdom’s government has made it clear, through its continuous consultation with the American administration, that all economic analyzes It indicates that postponing the decision-making for a month, as has been proposed, will have negative economic consequences.

The Kingdom’s government stressed that the attempt to obscure the facts regarding the Kingdom’s position on the Ukrainian crisis is unfortunate and will not change the Kingdom’s initial position and its vote to support the resolutions taken at the United Nations regarding the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, based on the Kingdom’s adherence to the need for all countries to abide by the United Nations Charter and principles of international law and its rejection Any infringement on the sovereignty of states over their territories.

She stressed that while the Kingdom seeks to maintain the strength of its relations with all friendly countries, it affirms at the same time that it does not accept dictates and rejects any actions or endeavors aimed at altering the lofty goals it is working on to protect the global economy from the fluctuations of oil markets.

She explained that addressing economic challenges requires the establishment of a constructive, non-politicized dialogue, and a wise and rational consideration of what serves the interests of all countries.

The Foreign Ministry concluded its statement by saying: "The Kingdom affirms that it views its relationship with the United States of America from a strategic perspective that serves the common interests of the two countries, and stresses the importance of building on the solid foundations upon which the Saudi-American relations have been based over the past eight decades, represented in mutual respect and the promotion of common interests. Effective contribution to maintaining regional and international peace and security, combating terrorism and extremism, and achieving prosperity and prosperity for the peoples of the region.
