Brussels: Europe and the Arabs

The European Union warmly welcomed the signing of the Maritime Boundary Delimitation Agreement between Lebanon and Israel. The European Union congratulates Israel and Lebanon on this historic achievement and commends the role of the United States in facilitating the negotiations.

According to a European statement issued in Brussels, this historic agreement will contribute to the stability and prosperity of the two neighbors, as well as in the wider region. The European Union encourages the parties to continue their constructive engagement.

The statement concluded by the Office of the Coordinator for Foreign Policy, "The European Union is ready to continue developing its partnerships with both Israel and Lebanon and to support efforts aimed at regional cooperation for the benefit of all.
