The European Union congratulated Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani on the successful vote of confidence for his government in the Parliament of Iraq.

A European statement issued by the European Foreign Policy Office in Brussels said that it is a good day for Iraq and the relations between the European Union and Iraq and an important step towards securing Iraq's stability and prosperity.

According to the statement, the European Union looks forward to working closely with the Prime Minister and his government, supporting the implementation of the announced reform program, and fighting corruption.

In this context, the European Union reiterates its readiness to host the EU-Iraq Cooperation Council at the earliest opportunity.

He added, "The Prime Minister's commitment to a balanced foreign policy and good relations with all of Iraq's neighbors opens up positive prospects for the future.

The European statement concluded by saying, "The European Union will continue to support Iraq, including the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Iraq."
