NATO and Israel reaffirm strong partnership

 NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security, Ambassador Bettina Kadenbach, traveled to Israel a few days ago, where she met with a group of officials from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the National Emergency Management Authority.

According to a statement issued by the NATO headquarters in Brussels, the visit was part of the regular consultations that Ambassador Kadenbach holds with her Israeli counterparts, and provided the opportunity to exchange views on current security issues, and on the long-term and mutually beneficial partnership between NATO and Israel, which is based on political and practical dialogue. cooperation.

Ambassador Kadenbach stressed NATO's determination to work with like-minded partners, such as Israel, in the current challenging security environment. She highlighted the coalition's willingness to enhance political dialogue and continue to work with Israel on many areas of common interest, including resilience, the impact of climate change, disruptive technologies, women, peace and security, and cyber and mixed threats.

During her stay, Ambassador Kadenbach also met with Allied ambassadors, through the Slovak Embassy, ​​which is the current NATO Contact Point Embassy in Israel.

As highlighted in NATO's new Strategic Concept - adopted at the Madrid Summit last June - political dialogue and practical cooperation with partners, based on mutual respect and benefit, contribute to stability beyond our borders, enhance our security at home and underpin NATO's core missions. in deterrence and defense, crisis prevention and management, and cooperative security.
