A plan to redeploy Iraqi border forces along the borders with Iran and Turkey

The Ministerial Council for National Security in Iraq held, on Wednesday, a meeting supervised by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, in the presence of members of the Council and the Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga.
The council discussed the Turkish and Iranian attacks and violations on the Iraqi border, and the bombing that affected a number of areas in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, causing terror to the people and harming them and their property. The Council took decisions to stop these attacks, in addition to continuing diplomatic efforts.
The following are the decisions of the Security Ministerial Council:
1- Developing a plan to redeploy the Iraqi border forces to hold the zero line along the borders with Iran and Turkey,
2- Securing all logistical support requirements for the Border Forces Command, strengthening the human capabilities and necessary funds, and supporting them with equipment and others, in order to enable them to accomplish their tasks,
3. Maneuvering with the human resources available to the Ministry of the Interior to strengthen the border posts,
4. Coordinating with the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq and the Ministry of Peshmerga to accomplish paragraphs 1 and 2 above with the aim of unifying the national effort to protect the Iraqi borders.
