Within the framework of renewing European solidarity with Ukraine: the Prime Minister of Belgium visits Kyiv and the President of the European Commission informs Zelensky by phone of the provision of aid and the need to hold Russia accountable for what constitutes war crimes

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
The institutions and member states of the European Union have once again shown their solidarity with Kyiv in light of the continued Russian bombing of the infrastructure in Ukraine. Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre Decroux visited Kyiv today and posted on Twitter a tweet in which he said, "After the heavy bombing in recent days, we stand with the people of Ukraine. More than ever, and with the cold winter months approaching, Belgium is providing new humanitarian and military aid.
For her part, the President of the European Commission made a phone call yesterday evening to the Ukrainian President
"I expressed to President Zelensky the EU's full solidarity with Ukraine as it suffers from Putin's deliberate and barbaric bombing of the country's civilian infrastructure. I strongly condemn these attacks. Russia must be held accountable for what constitute war crimes," she said in a statement.
We are stepping up our efforts and working with partners to provide the emergency support Ukraine needs to restore and maintain power and heating for the civilian population.
Through the EU Emergency Response Coordination Centre, UNHCR is currently preparing to deliver to Ukraine as quickly as possible the following large donations from Member States and directly from UNHCR's Rescue Unit Reserve:

200 medium size transformer and large autotransformer from Lithuania.
Medium size autotransformer from Latvia.
40 heavy generators from the rescue reserve located in Romania. Each of these generators can provide uninterrupted power to a small to medium sized hospital
In addition, the European Commission is creating a new Energy Rescue Center in Poland to allow donations from third parties and help deliver them to Ukraine in a coordinated manner, in particular with our G7 partners.
We have also reached out to relevant companies in various countries to order critical high-voltage equipment, including more autotransformers, and we are coordinating with partners to quickly transport them to Ukraine.
