The European Union institutions in Brussels said that the European Union's foreign policy coordinator, Josep Borrell, will be next Tuesday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where he will participate in the activities of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, which is being hosted by the Jordanian capital.
According to the agenda of the European Union for the coming week, which was published in Brussels, Borrell will participate in the conference and will hold a series of talks with many parties participating in the activities of the conference.
This comes after the Jordanian army announced that it would deploy its patrols to secure the "Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership" conference, which will be held in the Kingdom next Tuesday, amid protests in the country.
An official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army said that the army will deploy "military forces and vehicles on the road from Queen Alia International Airport to the Dead Sea region, in preparation for the launch of the second edition of the Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership Conference, which will be held in the Kingdom." next Tuesday.
The Jordan News Agency (Petra) stated that the conference will be held to discuss challenges related to food security, drug security and energy security in the region and the world, with the participation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and a number of countries expected to participate, including France.
And the Jordanian General Security announced the intensification of its patrols in the governorates of the Kingdom, which are witnessing protests against the deteriorating living conditions.
The Public Security Directorate said in a statement carried by the agency earlier that it would intensify its security deployment "to ensure the enforcement of the rule of law and maintain the security of citizens."
