The High Representative for Foreign Affairs of the European Union, Josep Borrell, announced during a visit to Morocco two initiatives that will strengthen the partnership between the European Union and Morocco:
1. A high-level dialogue in the security field, including the fight against terrorism in our immediate neighborhood.
2. Close cooperation in multilateral institutions to meet global challenges.
Borrell made an official visit to Morocco on Thursday and Friday.

The high-ranking European official met on Thursday, January 5 in Rabat, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, as well as other institutional interlocutors from Moroccan society and economic actors. The next day, the High Representative traveled to Fez to meet professors and students from the Euro-Mediterranean University in Fez, where he delivered a speech.
The visit was an opportunity for an in-depth discussion on the implementation of the EU-Morocco Partnership, including the perspective of the new Mediterranean Agenda. Borrell will assess existing files and explore specific areas where dialogue and cooperation can be further strengthened.
The meetings also made it possible to discuss regional and international issues of common interest and of particular importance in the current difficult global context, and the global impact of the Russian war against Ukraine.
