Brussels: Europe and the Arabs
In his statements on the position of the European Union regarding the political process in Sudan, the regional spokesman for the European Union in the Middle East, Luis Miguel Bueno, said that the more comprehensive the political process, the better the results for all.
The European spokesman welcomed the results achieved during the past weeks through the implementation of the terms of the framework agreement signed between the military component and the Forces for Freedom and Change - the Central Council.
And the European spokesman published, in a tweet to him on Twitter, a video of his statements in an interview with the (evening) program on Al-Jazeera Mubasher, in which he said, "We believe that the ongoing political process in Sudan is the best way to stop the divisions within the civil forces and between the military and civilian components."
He added, "The more comprehensive and broad the political process, the better and more stabilizing it is."
The European diplomat explained that the EU countries agree to support the general options of the Sudanese people and provide more investments, and said, "We do not decide what to do in Sudan, as it is up to the Sudanese, but we are ready to offer a helping hand and benefit from European experience in the issues of the stages of democratic transition."
The regional spokesman for the European Union in the Middle East stated that the Union's experts are closely following what has been achieved in the five major outstanding issues in Sudan, and that they are "fully prepared to provide their technical expertise through framing workshops" and making the transitional process in Sudan a success.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, had welcomed the launch of the final phase of the political process aimed at restoring the transitional process with civilian leadership in Sudan.
