Egypt's ambassador to Brussels is discussing with the Belgian Minister of Interior the promotion of security cooperation and the fight against terrorism and extremism

Ambassador Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kingdom of Belgium, Luxembourg, the institutions of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, met with Mrs. "Annalize Verlinden" Minister of the Interior and Institutional Reform of Belgium, where the meeting emphasized the distinguished relations between Egypt and Belgium and the keenness of the two parties to enhance cooperation between them In various fields, including security and the fight against terrorism, in light of the momentum in bilateral relations after the first visit of the President to Belgium in February 2022 and my meeting with the King and Prime Minister of Belgium.
Abdel Aty also reviewed the comprehensive Egyptian approach to combating terrorism and extremism, in addition to the national efforts to eradicate illegal immigration.
For her part, the Belgian minister praised Egypt's pioneering role in the field of combating terrorism, as well as in the field of combating illegal immigration, expressing the Belgian side's readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with the Egyptian side.
