Algeria calls for a unified Arab strategy to support solidarity in managing natural disasters

Algerian Interior Minister Ibrahim Murad called for a unified Arab strategy to support Arab solidarity in managing natural disasters.
During his speech, which he delivered during his participation in the work of the 40th session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, held in Tunis, the Algerian Minister of Interior explained that it is necessary to work on proposing a unified Arab strategy to support Arab solidarity in managing natural disasters by developing concrete and operational mechanisms for early warning, prevention and intervention. .
The Algerian Minister of Interior also stressed the importance of continuing joint Arab efforts and endeavors in light of an accelerating international and regional system that is witnessing sharp changes at various levels.
He added that the convening of the Arab Summit in early November in Algeria is evidence of his country's adherence to the Arab unity project, saying that based on his country's conviction that security and development are inseparable demands, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune decided, during the 36th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, which was held recently in Addis Ababa. Allocating an amount of one billion US dollars to finance development projects aimed at advancing development and supporting peace and stability in African countries.
In a related context, the Algerian minister indicated that his country, in its capacity as the continental coordinator for combating terrorism and violent extremism in Africa, had recently submitted practical and concrete proposals to strengthen the fight against terrorism in the Sahel region. It aims to establish appropriate mechanisms at the level of the African Union Organization.
The Algerian Minister of the Interior affirmed that "reducing the serious consequences of criminal acts requires today, more than ever, the consolidation of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in a manner that enables them to be addressed effectively, by focusing on the human factor, strengthening its capabilities and refining the competencies present in the Arab countries in several fields.
