Talks in Brussels between Egypt and the European Union dealing with combating terrorism and illegal immigration

met dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Brussels, with the Chief of Staff of the European Union Military Committee, Lieutenant-General Herve Blego, with the participation of the Brussels Defense Attaché. The meeting dealt with the strategic partnership between Egypt and the European Union, especially in the areas of security and defense, in addition to exchanging assessments on common challenges and threats. Where Lieutenant General "Blego" praised the pivotal Egyptian role in enhancing security and stability in the region.
For his part, the Ambassador reviewed the Egyptian efforts in the areas of combating terrorism, illegal immigration, and illegal trafficking operations. He also stressed the importance of building on the current momentum of bilateral cooperation, and continuing to strengthen cooperation with the European Union in areas of common interest, as well as Paying attention to capacity-building and transferring expertise in the fields of cybersecurity, demining, combating improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and combating terrorism, especially in light of the co-presidency of Egypt and the European Union for the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum, which started this March.
