Today, talks begin to be held by the EU High Coordinator for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, in Algiers during his official visit on March 12-13.
According to what was announced in Brussels through a statement issued by the European Foreign Policy Department Office, Borrell will meet with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Amin bin Abdelrahman, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramadan Lamamra.
The European statement also stated, "This visit will be an opportunity for in-depth discussions to consolidate and expand the partnership between the European Union and Algeria. The European High Representative will explore areas of common interest covered by the Association Agreement between the European Union and Algeria, with the aim of relaunching or strengthening dialogue and cooperation."
The meetings will also make it possible to discuss regional and international issues, including in particular the situation in the Sahel region and common challenges in the current global context in the wake of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
