The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, announced that Israel imposed new restrictions on worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan, and called for Arab and international intervention to prevent the occupation from escalating.
Hussein added, in media statements, that "Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic sanctities are repeated almost daily and in large numbers, and under the supervision of the Israeli official authorities, especially with the advent of the month of Ramadan, when the security restrictions on worshipers increase during these days."
He added that Israel "imposed many restrictions on worshipers inside Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan, including those related to age or inspection, but in the end they are occupation measures that cannot be stopped, and they limit the flow of worshipers to the mosque easily and easily."
The Mufti of Jerusalem described the pledges that Israel made during the Sharm el-Sheikh conference, related to stopping settlement activity and the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as "mere talk that does not apply on the ground."
He stressed the need for the Al-Murabitun to adhere to prayers inside Al-Aqsa Mosque despite all the restrictions, and called for the intervention of the international community, including Arab and Islamic countries, to prevent the occupation from escalating and stop its violations against Al-Aqsa and the Ibrahimi Mosque, and Islamic and Christian religious sanctities in Jerusalem in general.
