After talks with Gentiloni, the Tunisian Foreign Minister confirms the distinguished partnership with the European Union

Nabil Ammar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad, affirmed the distinguished strategic partnership that links Tunisia with the European Union, noting that Tunisia relies on its own capabilities and on the economic and financial support of its partners, including the European Union, for the success of the path of political, economic and social reform.
Nabil Ammar called on the European side to understand the specificity and accuracy of the stage that Tunisia is going through, and to adopt a responsible and constructive discourse that reflects the reality and appreciates what has been achieved within the framework of seeking to establish true democracy and a more just and comprehensive development method in response to the aspirations of Tunisians.
This came during the reception of Nabil Ammar, Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner for the Economy, who is on a working visit to Tunisia, according to a statement issued by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Monday.
For his part, Paolo Gentiloni highlighted the importance of the existing partnership between the two parties, expressing the European side's readiness to continue supporting Tunisia, whether on the bilateral level or in relation to relations with the International Monetary Fund.
During the meeting, they reviewed various aspects of cooperation between Tunisia and the European Union and ways to develop it in all fields, especially investment, education, higher education and energy.
The meeting also dealt with addressing the issue of migration in its various dimensions and the need to adopt a comprehensive approach that takes into account the economic and social dimensions of this phenomenon.
The European Commission in Brussels has previously said that Economics Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni will hold talks in the Tunisian capital, and according to the agenda of the European Commission members announced in Brussels, the European Commissioner will meet with President Kais Said. And Ms. Naglaa Boden, Prime Minister. Nabil Ammar, Minister of Foreign Affairs. and Samir Said, Minister of Economy and Planning. Ms. Seham Bogdiri Nemesya, Minister of Finance; And Mr. Marwan Abbasi, Governor of the Central Bank.
In addition, he will exchange views with representatives of the private sector and Tunisian civil society.
A few days ago, the European Union asked Belgian Foreign Minister Hajja Lahbib, "of Algerian origin," and her Portuguese counterpart, Joao Gomez, to visit Tunisia, the Brussels Times reported.
Their visit comes amid growing concerns about the economic and political situation there, and a possible increase in the number of migrants coming to Europe as a result. According to what was reported by the Belgian news agency
"The situation in Tunisia is very serious," European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told reporters last Monday after a meeting of EU ministers in Brussels. "If it collapses economically or socially, we will be in a difficult situation as new flows of immigrants will come to Europe."
Borrell said that Habib and Joao Gómez Cravinho were asked to "assess the situation and come back with a report that will guide our future steps."
