Dozens of trucks to various regions of Sudan..14 million children are in dire need of humanitarian aid

The United Nations announced the arrival of at least 100 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to various regions in the states of Sudan, including the capital, Khartoum. According to the United Nations news bulletin, of which we received a copy early this morning
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told the daily briefing that the trucks carried 2,600 tons of supplies, including nutrition, water, sanitation and health supplies for nearly two million men, women and children.
WFP has reached around 675,000 people across Sudan since resuming operations. The UN program began distributing food in Khartoum on Saturday.
WFP plans to reach at least half a million people in need of food in the capital, Khartoum, when the security situation allows.
Meanwhile, UNICEF warned that more than 13.6 million children in Sudan are in urgent need of humanitarian aid, after six weeks of conflict.
Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, welcomed the extension of the ceasefire in Sudan, as the humanitarian community there continues to expand the distribution of humanitarian aid.
For his part, the High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, concluded a three-day visit to Egypt with an urgent call to support those fleeing Sudan, and to support countries hosting refugees. Grandi called for borders to be kept open for people fleeing the fighting.
Dujarric said more than 170,000 people have entered Egypt from Sudan since the start of the conflict - more than half of the 345,000 people who have left Sudan since the start of hostilities.
