On Friday, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell expressed the European Union's concern over the recent escalation of violence in the occupied Palestinian territories, which has led to appalling numbers of victims.

Borrell condemned, in a statement issued by him, the attacks of Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank, and Borrell called on Israel to ensure the protection of civilians in the occupied territories.

In the same context, the European Union condemned Israel's decision to proceed with planning for approximately 1,000 settlement units, following its decision to advance planning for more than 4,500 settlement units in the occupied West Bank.

We urge all parties to take immediate steps to end the deadly cycle of violence, stop unilateral actions that fuel tensions, prevent further loss of life, ensure accountability, bring perpetrators to justice, and engage in efforts to create a peaceful solution.
Today, Saturday, the US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, called on Israel to take more steps to restore calm and reduce escalation. According to the American (Al-Hurra) channel, the United States is concerned about the recent settler attacks against Palestinian civilians and the destruction of their property in the West Bank.

He stressed the importance of holding those responsible for acts of violence accountable, calling on all parties to refrain from taking unilateral measures, including settlement activities that fuel tension.
Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita confirmed, on Friday, the postponement of the "Negev" summit, which was expected to be held in Morocco, "because of the political situation" in the region, in reference to the Israeli escalation and settlement policies.

The summit was expected to bring together the foreign ministers of the United States, Israel, Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco, but it was postponed more than once, without announcing the reasons.

Bourita said, during a joint press conference with his Swiss counterpart, Ignacio Cassis, in Rabat, that the summit needs "objective conditions to be met in order to achieve its goals," in a way that supports security and peace in the region, noting that he is looking forward to organizing it at the beginning of the next season (September).
