Sudan is a step away from famine.. 4 million people have fled the conflict and 20 million internally suffer from food insecurity and a health crisis

New York - Khartoum: Europe and the Arabs
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Wednesday that the conflict in Sudan has forced nearly four million people to flee their homes in more than 100 days.
The latest IOM displacement tracking matrix data showed that the confrontations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces led to the displacement of a huge number of people, as more than 926,000 people sought refuge outside the country, while 3.02 million people were internally displaced. According to a news bulletin. The United Nations, of which we received a copy Thursday morning
According to the latest statistics of the United Nations Organization for Migration on the humanitarian situation in Sudan, people have been forced to leave all 18 states of Sudan, while the highest percentage of displaced people are concentrated in the Nile River states (15 percent), Northern states (11 percent), and North Darfur ( 9 percent) and the White Nile (9 percent).
According to IOM field teams, 71 per cent of the total IDPs have fled Khartoum State.
The organization stated that the current estimates of displacement cases over the past 108 days exceed the total cases recorded during the past four years. But it also noted that access to many areas remains impossible due to the fighting, which means that current assessments are based on preliminary reports or estimates.
Difficult refugee conditions
Refugees from Sudan arrived in neighboring countries including Egypt, Libya, Chad, Central African Republic, South Sudan and Ethiopia.
The organization said that Sudanese citizens constituted more than two-thirds of those refugees, while the remaining third was of other nationalities, and those returning to their countries.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the conflict in Sudan, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, said that "the time has come for all parties to the conflict to end this tragic war immediately."
The UNHCR said conditions were "appalling" for those who had left the country to seek shelter in neighboring countries, with camps for the displaced crowded and the looming rainy season making resettlement and aid deliveries more difficult.
The International Organization for Migration echoed these concerns, warning that the rains heralded floods, which could exacerbate already fragile conditions.
A step away from starvation
In turn, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned Wednesday of the exacerbation of hunger and displacement due to the out-of-control war.
The office said that 6 million people in Sudan - equivalent to 13 percent of the total population - are one step away from famine, according to the latest IPC analysis.
More than 20 million people in the country face high levels of food insecurity due to conflict, economic downturn and mass displacement.
health crisis
Since mid-April, the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces has caused displacement, killings, injuries and a deepening humanitarian crisis.
Reports of looting and attacks on public institutions and the seizure of private homes continue in the capital, Khartoum, while clashes continue in four of the five states of Darfur.
Last week, the World Health Organization recorded cases of infectious and other diseases among displaced people who have sought shelter in hard-to-reach locations, where health services are limited. The organization also stated that more than 50 health facilities have been attacked.
The World Health Organization has warned that the health crisis has affected the entire region. Humanitarians also fear that the situation will deteriorate for vulnerable civilians caught in the conflict
