Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the Ukrainian terrorist attacks will not go unanswered, and the perpetrators will be punished.
This came, according to the "Russia Today" news channel, on Saturday, in Zakharova's comment on the Ukrainian attack on a Russian civilian ship in the Kerch Strait.
Zakharova said: "There can be no justification for such barbaric acts, and they will not go unanswered, and the perpetrators will inevitably be punished."
She stressed that Russia strongly condemns this terrorist attack, which not only threatens to kill the crew, but also carries the threat of a large-scale environmental catastrophe.
She added, "The Kiev regime, which has not been condemned by Western countries and international organizations, is actively using new terrorist methods, this time in the Black Sea."
It is worth noting that a Russian civilian tanker was attacked today by drone boats carried out by Ukrainian forces near the Kerch Strait, as no injuries were recorded among the tanker's crew. According to what was reported by the Middle East News Agency on Sunday.

For its part, the United Nations called on all concerned parties to refrain from any action that might lead to further escalation of the Ukrainian conflict.
Commenting on the Ukrainian attack on a Russian oil tanker in the Kerch Strait, the UN Secretary-General's office told the Russian news agency TASS, "We have seen reports of the incident. The United Nations is not in a position to confirm these reports."

For its part, the European magazine Politico saw that the drone attack on a Russian tanker in the Black Sea; He points to a potential new front in Ukraine's war in a strong message from Ukraine that it is ready to target Moscow's crucial shipments of oil and fuel.
The European magazine stated that the battle for supremacy in the Black Sea is escalating rapidly with huge repercussions on global energy and food security.
The attack on the tanker off Crimea came just a day after another Ukrainian drone targeted a Russian naval base near the port of Novorossiysk, severely damaging a warship.
"The tanker was damaged in the Kerch Strait, during an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces," the Russian state news agency TASS reported on Saturday.
Tensions are escalating in the Black Sea after Russia announced - last month - its withdrawal from the United Nations-brokered Black Sea Grain Initiative and began attacking Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea coast and on the Danube River with missiles, destroying tens of thousands of Ukrainian tons of wheat.
After those attacks and blockades, Ukrainian officials issued a statement in July that Russian ships would not be safe in the Black Sea. Kiev's Defense Ministry said in a statement that such ships "may be considered by Ukraine as carrying military cargo" as of midnight Friday.
Kyiv today declared a "war danger zone" around Russia's Black Sea ports, specifically citing the ports of Novorossiysk, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Tuapse, Sochi and Taman. It added that the announcement will be effective from August 23 "until further notice".
