Defense for Children International, which is based in the Palestinian territories, stated that the Israeli occupation authorities have killed 40 Palestinian children since the beginning of this year.

The director of the institution, Ayed Abu Qutaish, added in a statement to the Palestinian News Agency today, Monday, that with the martyrdom of the 17-year-old Ramzi Fathi Hamed, the number of child martyrs since the beginning of the year has risen to 40, including 33 in the West Bank and 7 in the Gaza Strip.

He pointed out that the occupation authorities continue to detain 160 children, including 21 in administrative detention, stressing that the absence of accountability and impunity constitutes a green light for settlers to kill Palestinian children, pointing out that all the incidents that were monitored of settlers assaulting and killing children, the perpetrators of which were not held accountable. And the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced this morning, the death of Ramzi, from serious injuries he sustained several days ago when he was shot by a settler while he was in his car near the Ofra settlement near the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah.
