Today, Tuesday, the 33rd meeting of the Arab Group of Experts on Combating Terrorism kicks off at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in the Republic of Tunisia, and it will last for 4 days.
The meeting, which is being held at the invitation of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (legal affairs sector and technical secretariat of the Arab Group of Experts on Combating Terrorism), and the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, is chaired by Colonel Ahmed bin Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Zahrani, head of the team, with the participation of representatives of the authorities concerned with combating terrorism. In the Arab countries, the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, and the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. On the sidelines of the meeting, a workshop will be organized on "individuals and entities' involvement in terrorism", in implementation of the recommendation issued by the 32nd meeting of the Arab Group of Experts on Combating Terrorism, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States during the period 21-23 February 2023.
Minister Plenipotentiary Maha Bakhit, Director of the Legal Affairs Department and responsible for the technical secretariat of the Group of Arab Experts on Combating Terrorism, stated that the meeting will deal with following up the measures taken to implement previous recommendations in the field of combating terrorism, and continuing to strengthen cooperation with the United Nations and its bodies and committees concerned with combating terrorism and international and regional organizations, and protecting Critical infrastructure from terrorist attacks, in addition to developing and activating the work of the expert group on combating terrorism
