A senior UN official visits Western Sahara.. and the results are in a report he will submit next month to the Security Council

The Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, arrived in Laayoune on a visit to Western Sahara. According to what was stated in the daily UN news bulletin, of which we received a copy today, Tuesday
A statement issued yesterday evening by the UN spokesperson said that Mr. de Mistura then looked forward to visits to the region and holding meetings, to engage with all stakeholders ahead of the issuance of the Secretary-General's report to the Security Council in October.
The statement stated that the Personal Envoy looks forward to continuing to deepen consultations with all concerned on the prospects for achieving progress based on the path of the political process for Western Sahara in the context of this regional engagement.
De Mistura intends to submit a report on his visits and consultations to the Secretary-General of the United Nations as well as to the Security Council in October.
