Yemen: The United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement urges an end to the escalation

Sanaa: Europe and the Arabs

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) called on all parties to the Stockholm Agreement to cooperate in order to achieve lasting peace in the governorate “to set an example for all of Yemen.” I love what was stated in the daily United Nations news bulletin, a copy of which we received on Friday morning

In a press statement, the mission expressed its regret "for exploiting the current opportunities for militarization and all kinds of provocative actions." She urged consideration of how best to provide support to the Yemeni people in Hodeidah.

The statement came at the conclusion of the visit of Major General Michael Perry, head of the mission, to Aden to hold a series of meetings to enhance efforts to bring peace to Hodeidah.

During the visit, Perry held the first meeting with the government team in the Redeployment Coordination Committee, three years after the last meeting, to focus on the urgent need to stop the escalation of hostilities in Hodeidah.

The UNMHA mission stressed the importance of unimpeded access to civilians, goods and services across the front lines, and bridging the gap between Yemenis living in areas controlled by the government and those controlled by Ansar Allah.
