The Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, confirmed that the relationship between Iraq and the United States cannot remain limited to the security aspect.
Al-Sudani stressed - according to the Iraqi Prime Minister, in a statement reported by Al-Sumaria News channel, today, Friday - during his meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce, that Iraq is a fertile land for investment in many important sectors, and there are natural resources that have not been invested yet, and the time has come. To invest it in a way that achieves prosperity for the Iraqi people and contributes to strengthening the strategic relationship with the United States.”
Al-Sudani pointed out that "the wrong path in wasting burned gas will stop within 2-3 years, after the completion of the gas projects that began with Total and the Emirati and Chinese companies in the fifth round."
The Iraqi Prime Minister called on all American companies to present their challenges facing their presence and work in Iraq. To develop solutions for it, noting that the government announced 11 fields and exploration areas in the Anbar, Nineveh, and Najaf governorates, which include natural gas that will be invested for the first time in the history of Iraq.
He explained that the size of the pharmaceutical market in Iraq is approximately $3 billion annually, which represents only 10% of national production, and the rest is imported, as the Council of Ministers issued a package of decisions to support pharmaceutical producers, and today there are more than 245 requests to establish production lines for the pharmaceutical industry. He explained that the Iraqi government is strongly moving towards using modern irrigation techniques to confront water scarcity, pointing out the presence of arable areas and an attractive environment, but it needs specialized technologies and companies to develop this sector, noting at the same time that contracts have been concluded with Emirati, Chinese and Iraqi companies to establish power stations. Solar power, as well as concluding a contract with Total to generate 1,000 megawatts of solar energy.
