Khartoum - Cairo: Agencies
The Federal Minister of Health in Sudan, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, announced that the extent of destruction and sabotage in the health sector in Sudan is estimated at 11 billion dollars due to the war.
The Sudanese Minister of Health said - during a press conference - that the call is directed to rehabilitate and reconstruct 25% of hospitals in Sudan, which includes the basic referral hospitals that include the specializations of kidney transplantation, MRI, and oncology.
He pointed out that 75% of the 702 hospitals, including 540 affiliated with the Health Ministry, were partially operational, as they were subjected to vandalism and the looting of medical devices, equipment, and networks. He indicated that there were some hospitals, such as Al-Hasahissa Hospital and Darfur Hospitals, that were completely destroyed.
This comes as Cairo News Channel reported in urgent news, quoting the channel’s correspondent: “The Sudanese army is carrying out a qualitative operation targeting the Rapid Support militia in the Kadro area, north of Bahri, and resulted in one death and the destruction of a large number of vehicles.”
