Gaza - New York: Europe and the Arabs
Tess Ingram, spokeswoman for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), said that the children of Gaza are stuck in successive and continuous conflict and trauma without any safe place to which they can turn. It warned of the repercussions of this on their physical health and development, as well as their mental health in the long term, according to what was stated in the daily news bulletin of the United Nations on Friday morning.
In the same regard, after an assessment mission in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, a United Nations team reported widespread destruction in the city from which Israeli forces withdrew on Saturday. Team members said damage was caused to every building they visited and most of the buildings they were able to see, and paved roads turned into dirt tracks.
This came after members of the UN Security Council expressed grave concern over the Israeli air strikes that resulted in the killing of 7 members of the World Central Kitchen team in Gaza. They said that "these horrific attacks" brought the number of aid workers killed in Gaza during the ongoing conflict to at least 224.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory said that more than 13,000 Palestinians are missing under the rubble, killed in random mass graves, or forcibly disappeared in Israeli prisons and detention centers.
Palestinian media reported in breaking news, a short while ago, that the head of police operations in the North Gaza Governorate and his son were martyred after their house in the Jabalia camp was bombed.
