Under the supervision of the European Commission, the eighth edition of the European Civil Protection Forum will be held from June 4 to 5 at the “Tour & Taxis Building” in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
The Forum is a major event for the civil protection community. A hub for knowledge exchange, cooperation and communication between stakeholders involved in European Civil Protection.
The Forum aims to address key policy and operational issues, inspire future developments in the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), and create networks and opportunities for cooperation in the field of disaster risk management.
The event is organized every two years by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) and is expected to bring together more than 1,500 stakeholders including governments, local, national and regional civil protection authorities, first responders and EU institutions. The scientific community and the private sector.
This edition of the forum revolves around the theme “Forming a disaster-resilient union: charting a course for the future of European civil protection.” This event will be a key opportunity to take a look at what the Union Civil Protection Mechanism has achieved, and to generate ideas for development, innovation and cooperation moving forward.
