The European Union called, through a statement issued in Brussels, for the necessity of implementing the recent Security Council resolution regarding a ceasefire in Gaza. The third statement from the Office of the Foreign Policy Coordinator in Brussels concluded by saying, “The European Union is ready to contribute to reviving the political process to achieve a lasting and sustainable peace, based on the two-state solution, and to support coordinated international efforts to rebuild Gaza.” .

Resolution No. 2735 indicates that the implementation of this proposal will enable the following results to be achieved distributed in 3 stages:

The UN Security Council resolution emphasizes the importance of both parties adhering to the terms of the proposal once it is agreed upon and calls on all member states and the United Nations to support its implementation. In its decision, the Council rejects any attempt to bring about demographic or regional change in the Gaza Strip, including any measures that reduce the territory of the Strip.
In its resolution, the Security Council reiterates its firm commitment to the vision of a two-state solution under which two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, live side by side in peace and within safe and recognized borders in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, and stresses in this regard the importance of unifying the Gaza Strip with The West Bank is under the Palestinian Authority.
