Today, Tuesday, Israeli occupation artillery targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, noting that the headquarters houses thousands of displaced people.
The association said, in a press statement issued by it, that the Israeli bombing targeted the upper floors, noting that this headquarters was already suffering from an accumulation of wounded, a scarcity of medical supplies, and a running out of fuel.
The association added that the Israeli occupation continues its policy of unlawfully arresting medical personnel and taking them to unknown destinations, noting that the health situation is getting worse as the Israeli raids continue, and the occupation also prevents ambulance crews from entering the areas it targets.
The association pointed out that there is no longer any safe area in the Gaza Strip, in light of the targeting of citizens in these areas, and civil defense crews also face restrictions from the occupation during their work. According to what was reported by the Middle East News Agency
Today, Tuesday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 47 Palestinians in a massive campaign of raids and arrests in the occupied West Bank.
Security sources said that the occupation forces arrested 17 people from the Hebron Governorate and 15 from Bethlehem, including two girls and a journalist, from the southern West Bank.
From the north, the occupation forces arrested three from Jenin, one from Tulkarm, and three from Tubas.
From Ramallah in the central West Bank, the occupation forces arrested eight people, including freedom fighter Khalida Jarrar, the leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and a former freed prisoner.
Cairo News reported that 26 Palestinians were martyred in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, since yesterday evening.
Gemma Connell, head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said that thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip followed evacuation orders issued by the Israeli army and searched for safety in specific areas, only to find that they had only a small space left in the densely populated Strip.
The Israeli occupation army admitted that two soldiers were killed and four others were injured in the recent battles in Gaza.
For his part, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, called on the international community to “immediately stop the unacceptable suffering of the people of Gaza,” describing what is happening as “the cruelest in modern history.”
The Spanish Prime Minister's words came during his speech to congratulate the people on Christmas, and he also congratulated 3,000 Spanish soldiers deployed in 15 countries via video, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais.
Sanchez has repeatedly called on Europe to recognize the Palestinian state, saying: “Europe must demand compliance with international law, and this means recognizing the Palestinian state.”
Pedro Sanchez chose to go a step further than in 2014, the year in which the House of Representatives voted unanimously in favor of recognizing the Palestinian state.
It must be taken into account that less than a month ago, the Prime Minister traveled with his Belgian counterpart, Alexander De Croo, to Israel and Palestine, and threatened to unilaterally recognize the Palestinian state.
“It is time for the international community and the European Union to once and for all recognize the State of Palestine,” said Sanchez, who declared that Spain could “make its own decisions” if the European Union did not take this step.
He pointed out that more than 130 countries have recognized the Palestinian state, while the United States and some European Union countries have not done so yet.
He added: "It is worth making efforts to take initiatives within the European Union to recognize Palestine, and if that does not happen, Spain's tendency to recognize Palestine will continue."
