The Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Florida, accompanied by his wife Sara Netanyahu, ahead of a planned meeting with US President Donald Trump.
According to the newspaper, Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with President Trump on Monday at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Yediot Aharonot indicated that the talks will address the second phase of the ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip, as well as the future of the Strip in the coming period.
The newspaper added that the meeting will also discuss the latest regional developments, in addition to bilateral interests between the United States and Israel.
Israeli police have warned officers in the Southern District against traveling alone on Route 310, which runs near the Bedouin village of Tarabin in the Negev desert of southern Israel, citing safety concerns following recent security tensions in the area. Channel 12 reported that the district command has instructed officers to travel in groups of six to eight and to avoid entering Tarabin village, following a series of raids conducted in recent days.
These instructions came after a controversial and provocative visit by the extremist National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, to Tarabin, during which young villagers threw stones at Israeli police.
The channel noted that Israeli police routinely exercise caution when entering or approaching Tarabin, citing video footage showing villagers repelling police during a raid last Friday.
In response, Israeli police denied these claims, asserting that the reports do not reflect the reality on the ground, without providing further details about the events. On another front, Italian authorities arrested nine people suspected of financing Hamas through Italian-based charities. Israel stated that Mossad provided information in the operation.
The public prosecutor's office in Genoa, northern Italy, explained in a statement that the suspects are accused of "belonging to and financing Hamas," which the European Union classifies as a terrorist organization.
The prosecutor's office stated that the detainees transferred approximately €7 million ($8.2 million) collected over the past two years for humanitarian purposes to entities linked to Hamas. Police seized assets worth more than €8 million.
In a separate statement issued on Sunday, police said that their forces seized €1.08 million in cash found in the offices of a pro-Palestinian charity and in homes belonging to suspects, as well as pro-Hamas materials.
The investigation began after suspicious financial transactions were detected and expanded in cooperation with Dutch authorities and other EU countries, in coordination with Eurojust, the European Union's judicial body. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni thanked the authorities for a "highly complex and important operation" that uncovered funding for Hamas through so-called "charitable organizations."
The Role of Mossad and Israel
The Israeli Ministry of Defense stated on Sunday that the Israeli intelligence and counterterrorism agencies participated in providing "information and evidence to Italian law enforcement authorities through agreed-upon channels."
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that Israel will pursue all "terrorists" and anyone who supports them, even abroad, and that anyone who thinks they can secretly fund terrorism is mistaken.
