The Arab-Belgian Chamber of Commerce: Economic Seminar to Introduce the Evolving Economic Landscape in Jordan and Explore Strategic Partnerships Before Investment Commences

Brussels: Europe and the Arabs

The Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Brussels, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PECI), is organizing a high-level economic seminar on Monday, January 26, focusing on business and partnership opportunities in Jordan. The seminar will be held in Brussels.

In statements to the "Europe and the Arabs" website, Mr. Qaisar Hijazin, Secretary-General of the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, said that Jordan is an important trading partner for Belgium and the European Union in general. This seminar comes after the partnership between Jordan and the EU was elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen visited Jordan and met with King Abdullah II, and an agreement was reached to hold a comprehensive conference to stimulate investment in Jordan next April. Accordingly, it was agreed that a number of Jordanian ministers would undertake a European tour to encourage European institutions to contribute to this comprehensive conference, given Jordan's strategic location, security, stability, and good relations with various countries around the world. We at the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce are committed to this initiative. Our focus is on strengthening relations between Belgium and the European Union on the one hand, and all Arab countries without exception on the other. According to the Arab-Belgian Chamber of Commerce, this seminar includes a high-level Jordanian delegation, comprising the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Planning, and the Minister of Investment. It will provide an opportunity to present Jordan's investment agenda and priority projects within the framework of the European Union's financial instruments supporting the achievement of the €1.4 billion investment target outlined in the Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership.

The seminar will be held at the Belgian Convention and Exhibition Centre (BECI). Opening remarks will be delivered by His Excellency Mr. Yousef Al-Batayneh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Kingdom of Belgium; Mr. Qaisar Hijazin, Secretary General of the Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Ms. Ekaterina Clifford, Director of International Relations at the Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BECI). This will be followed by a Jordanian presentation on the investment conference and investment opportunities. The presentation will cover the investment conference, the investment reform agenda, priority sectors, ongoing projects, and success stories. Speakers will include His Excellency Mr. Ya'rub Qaddah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, and Her Excellency Ms. Zeina Toukan. The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and His Excellency Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, Minister of Investment, will participate in a session on the private sector, followed by an open discussion and Q&A session.

Jordan enjoys a strategic location at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe, and occupies a leading position as a regional logistics hub, ranking among the top 20 countries globally in terms of logistics competitiveness. The country offers significant investment opportunities in logistics, industrial zones, renewable energy, and technology. This seminar will provide a unique opportunity to engage directly with key Jordanian decision-makers, gain insight into Jordan's evolving economic landscape, and explore strategic partnerships before committing to investment.

This event is part of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the European Union and Jordan, and serves as preparation for the first EU-Jordan Investment Conference, scheduled to be held at the Dead Sea in Jordan on April 21 and 22, 2026. The conference will be attended by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, representatives from the private sector, and a number of senior European and Jordanian political and institutional leaders.
